Privacy Policy
Last updated September 29, 2026
This policy explains how Runtime Rodeo ("Runtime Rodeo," "we," "us," or "our") handles information on our website, runtimerodeohq.com, and through Runtime Local, our website service for local businesses.
The short version
- This website doesn't use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers.
- If you contact us, we use what you send to reply to you.
- For Runtime Local, we look at public information about local businesses, build a private website preview for some of them, and email the business about it.
- We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
- You can ask what we have about you, ask us to fix it, or ask us to delete it. If you tell us to stop emailing you, we stop for good.
Who we are
Runtime Rodeo is a small software studio in Central Texas. Runtime Local is one of our products. We are responsible for the information described in this policy.
- Email: howdy@runtimerodeohq.com
- Phone: (737) 422-1880
What this policy covers
- Our website, runtimerodeohq.com.
- Runtime Local website previews and the emails we send about them.
- Messages you send us by form, email, or phone.
After a customer's website goes live, the customer decides how that website collects and uses information, and the customer's own privacy policy applies to it. If we host or maintain that website for the customer, we handle its information only on the customer's behalf.
Information we collect
When you visit our website
- Our hosting provider, Vercel, automatically keeps standard server logs. These include your IP address, your browser type (user agent), the page you asked for, and the time of the request.
- We don't use cookies, local storage, analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising trackers.
When you contact us
- Contact form: your name, email address, and message, plus your business name and phone number if you choose to give them.
- Email or phone: your contact details and whatever you tell us.
Please don't send sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, bank or card details, or health information, through the form or by email.
About local businesses (Runtime Local)
We research local businesses using publicly available information, such as:
- business name, address, service area, hours, public phone number, and published email address;
- the business's own website and what it says, such as services offered;
- public business listings and directories; and
- the name of the owner or manager, if the business makes it public.
We also create some information of our own: notes about how the business's current website works (for example, on a phone), the preview we build, the emails we send, any replies we receive, and whether someone has asked us to stop.
We don't buy contact lists, and we don't guess email addresses. We only email addresses a business has published for customers to contact it.
Most of this information is about businesses, not individuals. Some of it, like an owner's name or a published email address, can identify a person, so we handle it with the same care as other personal information.
If you become a customer
We keep your contact and billing details, the content you give us for your website, and records of our agreement, invoices, and payments. When we start taking payments online, card payments will be processed by Stripe. We won't receive or store your full card number.
How we use information
- To reply to you and provide the services you ask for.
- For Runtime Local: to decide which businesses we might be able to help, to build a private preview, and to email the business a link, a price, and a written scope. If we don't hear back, we may send up to two short follow-ups. Then we stop.
- To honor opt-outs and keep a do-not-contact list.
- To run, secure, and fix our website and services, including using server logs to block abuse.
- To keep business, tax, and legal records, and to comply with the law.
We never use race, ethnicity, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, or similar traits (or stand-ins for them) to decide whom to contact or what to charge.
AI tools and human review
We use AI tools to help us research public information and draft website text and emails. A person reviews every preview site and every message before it goes out. We don't use AI, or any automated process, to make decisions about people that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Website previews
- A preview lives at a private web address made of a long, random code. It is hidden from search engines. We send the link only to the business's published email address.
- Anyone who has the link can open it, so the business may choose to share it.
- Every page is labeled as a concept that is not the business's official website.
- We build previews only from facts we can confirm from public sources. We leave out anything we can't confirm, and we don't use the business's own photos or logo.
- Forms on a preview don't send information anywhere.
- A preview expires about 21 days after we make it. The business can ask us to take it down at any time, and we will.
Emails from us
- Our emails say who we are, include our mailing address, and include a simple way to opt out.
- To opt out, use the opt-out link or reply "stop." We stop for good, including any follow-ups.
- To make sure we never contact you again, we keep your email address and business name on a do-not-contact list.
- Runtime Local doesn't call or text businesses we haven't heard from.
How we share information
We don't sell personal information, rent it, or share it for targeted advertising.
We share information only with service providers that help us run our business, and only as needed for them to do that work:
| Provider | What it does for us | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Our database, including contact form messages and business research | United States (US East) |
| Google Workspace | Our email, including alerts that tell us a new message has arrived | Google's data centers in the United States and other countries |
| Vercel | Hosts our website and previews, and keeps server logs | United States, with a worldwide delivery network |
| Research and AI tools (Anthropic, Firecrawl) | Fetch public web pages and help draft text | See each provider's own privacy policy |
| Stripe (when online payments launch) | Processes payments | United States |
We may also share information:
- when the law requires it, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order;
- to protect the rights, property, or safety of our customers, the public, or us;
- as part of a merger, sale, or other transfer of our business, in which case this policy still applies to the information transferred; or
- when you ask us to.
How long we keep information
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Contact form messages and email conversations | 3 years after our last contact with you |
| Research, previews, and outreach emails for businesses that don't become customers | 12 months after our last contact, except the do-not-contact entry. Preview links stop working when they expire. |
| Do-not-contact list | Permanently, limited to email address, business name, and date |
| Customer records | For as long as you're a customer, and at least four years after that for tax records |
| Server logs | For a limited time under Vercel's retention settings |
How we protect information
- Our website and previews use encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- Our contact form can add new messages to our database, but it can't read them back.
- Only people who need access have it. Today, that's our founder.
- We use established providers with their own security programs.
No system is perfectly secure. If a security breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- Access: tell you what personal information we have about you and give you a copy.
- Correct: fix information that's wrong.
- Delete: delete personal information we have about you.
- Stop emails: stop all marketing emails, for good.
- Remove a preview: take down a preview of your business within one business day.
How to ask: email howdy@runtimerodeohq.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line, call (737) 422-1880, or reply to any email we sent you. We may need to confirm the request is really from you, for example by replying from the email address we have on file.
What happens next: we'll respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we'll tell you why within those 45 days and take up to 45 more. Requests are free.
What we may keep after a deletion request: your do-not-contact entry (so we don't contact you again), records the law requires us to keep, and copies in routine backups until they are overwritten.
If we can't do what you asked, we'll explain why. You can ask us to take another look by replying to our answer. You can also contact the Texas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division.
We won't treat you differently for making any of these requests.
Texas privacy law
The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives Texas residents rights over their personal data. Most of its requirements apply only to businesses that are not "small businesses" as the U.S. Small Business Administration defines that term. We are a small business. The Act also doesn't cover publicly available information or information about people acting in a business or work role.
The Act does require small businesses to get consent before selling sensitive data. We don't sell any personal data, sensitive or otherwise.
Even though most of the Act doesn't apply to us, we offer everyone the choices described above.
Other U.S. state privacy laws
State privacy laws such as California's generally apply only to businesses that meet size or volume thresholds or that do certain business in those states. We don't believe any of them apply to us today. We still honor the requests described above, wherever you live.
Children
Our website and services are for businesses and adults. They aren't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we'll delete it.
Visitors outside the United States
Our services are for businesses in the United States. We and our main service providers are based in the United States, and your information is mainly stored and processed there.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information we already have, we'll say so clearly at the top of this page.
